Ending over 40 days of 'cease work', the junior doctors on Thursday announced that they would 'partially' return to their duties from Saturday onwards

Junior doctors in Bengal have decided to end their large-scale protest over the rape and murder of a fellow doctor at a hospital in Kolkata. They announced that they will return to work on Saturday, although with a condition: they will not participate in OPD services or attend elective operations.

After a 42-day-long strike, junior doctors in Kolkata on Thursday night announced that they will resume emergency services from Saturday. However, the protest has not been completely called off. The doctors clarified that they will continue to abstain from serving out-patient departments (OPDs) across government hospitals in the city.

Ending the logjam persisting for the last 41 days, the junior doctors had on Thursday announced a partial resumption of duties.
